You are what you eat

This is an age-old saying that holds a lot of merit, but do you realize that you do not only eat with your mouth?

Perhaps it's better to use the word absorbing instead of eating because this is after all what your body does. It absorbs the foods and liquids that you put in your stomach and uses it to grow, repair and maintain itself.

So do you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body and that it absorbs stuff too? Your skin absorbs sunrays to produce vitamin D, it absorbs moisture from the air but it also absorbs a lot of other stuff that it comes into contact with.

Yes, all the cosmetics, deodorants, sunscreens, shampoos, soaps and perfumes are all being absorbed by your skin and end up inside your body.

All that stuff is in a way being eaten by you.

Have you ever stopped to think about what you put on your skin? Have you ever read the label on the back of those products to see what is in them before you put them on?

There are a multitude of words on there that most people have trouble with pronouncing. You know why that is? It's because most of those products are manmade; they are made in a laboratory with a lot of different (often very nasty) chemicals. Would you eat chemicals? No? Then why would you put those chemicals on your skin?

So you are not just what you eat, you are also what you smear.

But it does not end there; your body itself also absorbs radiation and other energies. Radiation from DECT-telephones, mobile phones, Wi-Fi networks, televisions, computers and energy from other people, animals and plants, you name it.

This not only affects your brain and other tissues inside your body, it also affects your energetic body, your chakras. This is the body you cannot see but is most definitely there.

You see you actually have two bodies (some people say you even have 4, but to keep things a bit more simple I will leave those out for now); your physical body and your energetic body, and the two are connected to each other. A lot of people forget about their energetic body and keep polluting it without even realizing it and wonder why they feel so sick or tired all the time.

The thing about your energetic body is that it does not only absorb stuff from outside it also absorbs stuff from inside; from your mind and your emotions. The way you think, the way you feel and the way you act affects your energetic body. Negative thoughts, feelings and actions produce negative energy and positive thoughts, feelings and actions produce positive energy. It's as simple as that.

So bearing in mind that the two bodies are connected, do you realize that when you put bad stuff into one of them it affects the other?

Now the trick is to recognize the bad stuff in life!

This is in fact a very important first step; to know what is good for you and what is not. To do this you will have to do some research. No not the regularly available main stream information given to you by people who may be funded by the companies that produce the bad stuff in the first place. Get your info from the internet and other alternate sources. After a while you will know who and what is right and who and what is wrong.

Some websites/people from whom I have learned a lot are Mike Adams aka The Health Ranger from Natural News, Annie Leonard from The Story of Stuff and the video made Dr.Michael Klaper called "A Diet For All Reasons" from which you can find a transcription made by me on this page. These are in my opinion very good places to start your search.

It is also very important for you to start reading the labels of the products you (want to) buy and know what the ingredients are and if those ingredients are harmful or not.

The second step is to implement that knowledge into your life...and that is the hard part. Changing your ways is often pretty difficult to do, but with the right motivation it gets a lot easier. Also, the nice thing is that this motivation should be supported by the knowledge received in step one. So your awareness of the bad stuff should provide you with enough motivation to avoid it.

Ok let's sum up some of the bad stuff (pollutants) in life shall we?

As you can see most of the "bad stuff" is pretty much everything that is processed in either a factory and/or a lab.

Now the industries that make all these things of course tell you that their products are safe. This is supposedly mostly due to the fact that the amount of pollutants in them is so minute that it could not be harmful and therefore it is considered safe. Their products are after all (most of the time) tested extensively on poor defenseless animals before giving it to the general public.

Well the thing is that in your lifetime you come into contact with such a wide variety of these so called safe products and the pollutants that are in them tend to build up in your body. After a while they will cause any number of diseases (I bet you can guess which disease is most common nowadays). I wonder if the people who make those products use them themselves?

Looking at the list above there is a lot of stuff to avoid and it may seem that there is nothing healthy left anymore. Well of course there is...it is just very well hidden and you have to know where to look.

The hidden healthy stuff (opinion)

The healthy stuff is hidden because the processed-food manufacturers of the world have never shown them to you. They are hidden because the governments of the world are controlled by those same industries and have therefore never shown them to you. And they are hidden because they are more expensive then the "regular" products you buy. They are in fact not expensive at all, it is the processed products that are very cheap. Those products are being intentionally kept cheap so you will prefer them over the healthy stuff.

This is unfortunately how our world seems to work at the moment. We are under the control of "The Industry". The processed food manufacturers, the Pharmaceutical industry, the Oil Companies, the Banks, etc. They are really in control of the world and its people. And "The Industry" does not have your best interest at heart. They wouldn't make any money at all if you were happy and healthy. The whole idea is to slowely make you sick from the products they make so that you will need the pharmaceuticals they also make. This ensures them of their fortunes. Remember, everything always revolves around the accumulation of money.

If you want to live a healthier and happier life than you have to take matters into your own hands and not be dependent on others.

You are the only one that is responsible for your personal health (physical, spiritual and mental), and if you want to take the easy road and swallow (pardon the pun) everything that is handed to you without question or thought and not take any responsibility for your own life and health than that is your prerogative. But if you do think, question and take responsibility than a whole new world will open up to you. You will be able to "see through the Matrix" as it were and be a lot happier because of it.

Getting rid of the pollutants

So if you want to reduce the amount of pollutants absorbed by your body then there are a lot of things you can do. One thing is to use and consume only (or at least mostly) organic products. This means eat organic foods and use organic products like organic soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, skin care, detergents, washing powder, etc.). This is not only good for yourself but also for the environment (which in turn is good for you). Most of the organic skin-, haircare and cosmetic products are safe to ingest, so in fact you can eat what you put on yourself. And that is how it should be.

Reducing the amount of pollutants absorbed by your body is of course no guarantee that you will live to be 250 years, but it will surely improve the life you have.

Another thing you can do is to realise that if you want to be more healthy (this can include losing weight) that a diet will never ever help you. Changing your diet is the only thing that will benefit you. Diet plans and products mostly only benefit the manufacturers.

If you are living an unhealthy life then going on a diet for a few weeks will not help you in any way. The only way to help yourself is to become aware of your unhealthy habits and replace them with healthy ones. And yes this may mean changing your life completely, but if this is what it takes to become more happy and healthy then is that not well worth the effort?

Your body can heal itself

When you start to "feed" yourself with stuff that is actually healthy for you, you give your body the opportunity to begin the cleansing process that is necessary to heal itself from the years of abuse you have put it through. This may take some time depending on the health of your body and the amount of polluting that has been done to it, but your body will heal itself.

In fact it is my opinion that your body is able to heal itself of anything. There is in my opinion nothing your body cannot handle in regards to diseases or otherwise. The fact is that the job your body can do depends for the most part on the fuel you give it (the analogy with an engine is easily made). You are what you eat and with that in mind your life will become a lot easier.
