This symbol is called the Galactic Butterfly

which is said to represent all of the consciousness that has ever existed in this galaxy. This is all of our physical ancestors both human, animal, reptile, fish, shell fish, plants as well as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from a whirling disk into stars then planets and solar systems.

Big Meaning. So big that the original Maya had no symbol for this. In their civilization it was like having no name for God. Just knowing the concept was good enough. Later this pattern was devised by Toltec or Zapatec weavers as a pattern for blankets and this is where Jose Arguelles came across it. He called it Hunab Ku.

The indigenous peoples call it "The Galactic Butterfly". Butterflies are seen as ancestors returning for a visit to physicality. Wearing one of these symbols is very powerful as it broadcasts your reaching to actively join the consciousness of our galaxy.

Hunab Ku "The Galactic Butterfly"

symbolizes the principle of life beyond the Sun. It is the galactic core or beam from which comes all life, consciousness and God. The Mayans believed that we are connected to this core through invisible threads that stretch from our solar plexus along a beam of light that passes through the Sun to the center of the universe. Each of us has the choice to connect to this Spirit source to ready ourselves for the coming of the Golden Age, predicted by the Mayan Calendar for December 21, 2012. For the Maya, whose vision foresaw all of us, this symbol is a revelation telling us to look into our hearts & souls, and become conscious beings in preparation for the Harmonic Convergence in which all is One.

Hunab Ku, the 4 colours, the 20 solar-seals and the 13 tones

For the Mayans Hunab Ku is the Galactic heart, that one source from which everything originates and returns to. Hunab Ku manifests itself in a natural cyclic movement.
The creating energy of Hunab Ku expresses itself in 4 colours and each colour manifests itself in 5 solar-seals. Each solar-seal indicates specific qualities and (growth)possibilities.
The creating energy of Hunab Ku manifests itself in 13 tones that together reflect the cycle of intention, by means of harmonisation to destination and complete realisation.
Each of 20 the solar-seals manifests itself by means of one of those 13 tones (260 combinations), as a result of which the qualities and possibilities of the solar-seal get a certain direction. A direction in which your reality will manifest itself.

Hunab Ku is the heart of the Milky Way galaxy

It is the place which the Maya call the cosmic womb. Hunab Ku is the one creator of rhythm and movement, the heart of the Milky Way galaxy from which according to the Maya all rhythm and movement comes. Hunab Ku is seen as the transmitter of outgoing energy/information. It uses stars as lenses to send energy to planets. The sun ("Kin" in Yucatec language) is the primary bringer of energy from Hunab Ku to our planet. It is this lens through which the Earth receives direct galactic information. The pulses of Hunab Ku are seen as a language, or code/energies stored in the "Tzolkin", a universal harmonic module which caries within itself all possible combinations of Hunab Ku.

It is the holy calendar. Hunab Ku is the numeric connection between de numbers 13 and 20. They represent the movement and rhythm; energy and form; spirit and soul. Geometrically Hunab Ku can be symbolised by a square inside a circle. Hunab Ku is both the one as well as the other, nor the one, nor the other. It is masculine and feminine and yet it is neither. In Guatemala they often call it: Heart of the Heaven and Heart of the Earth.

Hunab Ku

The Maya see a galactic heart in the centre of the universe. Everyone here on Earth is in direct connection with this galactic heart. They call this heart Hunab Ku which means as much as the Great Spirit from which the energy is created. This primal source first sends out creating energy, after which this energy returns to the point where the starting point and the end point form a whole. This cycle can best be compared to the pumping of blood through our bodies.
